Best of Two Policy: How Final Marks Are Calculated:

Under the dual-exam policy, CBSE considers the higher of the two scores in up to three improvement subjects. After both Phase 1 and Phase 2 results are declared, CBSE compares the scores from both attempts for each subject individually and considers the higher mark for the final result. Your final scorecard will only show the better performance.

Passing Marks & Scorecard Details:

To pass, students must score at least 27 out of 80 marks in theory, at least 7 out of 20 in internal assessment/practicals, and a combined total of at least 33 out of 100 marks in each subject.

The CBSE Class 10 Second Board scorecard will include the student's name, roll number, class, father's name, date of birth, qualifying status (pass or fail), subject-wise marks in both theory and practical examinations, total marks obtained, full marks for each subject, and the overall grade secured.

What Happens After Result: Compartment, Re-evaluation & Class 11 Admissions

Students who are unable to clear their examination even in the second board attempt will be eligible to appear for the CBSE Class 10 Compartment Examination, expected to be held in July 2026.

Photocopy of answer sheets, marks verification, and re-evaluation requests can only be submitted after the second board result is officially declared.

The provisional digital marksheets issued via the main exam in April are already valid for provisional Class 11 admissions. However, CBSE will issue final passing documents, cumulative marksheets, and merit certificates only after incorporating the results of the Second Board Examination.
