NEET PG 2025 will be conducted across 233 cities nationwide, as per the revised schedule released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The number of exam centres has been significantly increased to accommodate all candidates in a single shift, as mandated by the Supreme Court to ensure fairness and uniformity. These centres are strategically selected to offer maximum accessibility to aspirants from urban and remote areas alike. During the application process, candidates are required to choose their preferred exam cities, but the final allotment is subject to availability and will follow a first-come, first-served basis based on registration order.
As per the latest directive from the Supreme Court of India, the NEET PG 2025 exam will now be conducted in a single shift on August 3, 2025, instead of the earlier scheduled date of June 15. The Court has instructed the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to hold the exam in a single session to ensure uniformity, fairness, and transparency. This decision follows concerns raised over inconsistent difficulty levels across multiple shifts in previous years. Conducting the exam in one shift aims to provide a level playing field for all aspirants. In response, the NBE has expanded the number of exam cities to accommodate this change. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official websites nbe.edu.in and natboard.edu.in for updates on exam centres, city intimation slip, admit card (July 31), and result (September 3, 2025).
NEET PG 2025 city selection window will reopen from June 13, 2025 (3:00 PM) to June 17, 2025 (11:55 PM) on the official NBE website nbe.edu.in. During this period, registered candidates can log in using their credentials and choose their preferred exam city from the available options. The allotment of the exam centre will be done on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. This window is especially important due to the revised single-shift exam format, which may lead to the addition of more centres across the country to accommodate all aspirants. Candidates are advised to complete their city selection promptly and keep checking the official website for further updates.
While filling the NEET PG application form, candidates must carefully prioritize their exam city preferences. The steps are:
Indicate preferences: Up to three cities can be selected in order of priority.
Submit Early: Centres are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lock Preferences: Once choices are made, use the 'Save & Proceed' option.
Allotment Basis: Preferences, seat availability, and candidate’s address are factored in.
NEET PG was hosted in 179 cities nationwide as per previous notification. Each city is assigned a unique code to help with identification during registration. NEET PG exam centres along with their respective codes are listed in the table below.
