Factors Influencing CLAT 2025 Cutoffs
The following factors influence the CLAT cutoff 2025.
Exam difficulty: A tougher CLAT paper leads to lower cutoffs, while an easier exam results in higher cutoffs.
Number of applicants: More candidates increase competition, often raising the cutoff scores.
Seat availability: Fewer seats in NLUs can increase the cutoff scores higher due to increased competition for limited spots.
Candidates’ performance: Higher overall performance among aspirants can result in higher cutoffs, and vice versa.
Reservation policies: Category-based reservations (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.) and the number of reserved seats directly impact cutoffs for each group.
CLAT 2025 Counselling
The CLAT 2025 counselling process is currently underway, with registration having taken place from May 17 to May 21, 2025. The counselling schedule was revised due to challenges to the CLAT results, resulting in the first merit list being published on May 26, 2025. The Consortium of NLUs has limited the process to three rounds of counselling for 2025, compared to five rounds in previous years. Candidates must log in to their CLAT account, pay the counselling fee, and update their NLU preferences during the registration window to participate in seat allotment.
The CLAT 2025 cut-off is the minimum rank or score required for admission to each NLU, which varies by university and category after each counselling round.
How many counselling rounds were conducted for CLAT 2025?
For CLAT 2025, the Consortium of NLUs conducted three rounds of centralised counselling, with the third merit list being the final one published on 20 June 2025.
What factors influence the CLAT 2025 cut-off ranks?
CLAT 2025 cut-off ranks are influenced by many factors such as exam difficulty, number of applicants, seat availability, and reservation policies.
Which NLU had the highest closing rank for the general category in CLAT 2025?
Top NLUs like NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, and WBNUJS Kolkata had the highest closing ranks for the general category, with NLSIU Bangalore’s closing rank for the general category being 102 in the first allotment.
What is the deadline to pay the university fees after the third counselling round?
For candidates allotted seats in the third round, the deadline to pay university fees is June 27, 2025, by 5 pm.
